Laser Eye Surgery
We have been running the optical clinic (“eye clinic”) for 10 years. The clinic is conducted by the ophthalmologist with long experience (the doctor has M.D. degree) and the team of experienced doctors. The high standard of our service makes our clinic highly recommended. Fifteen years experience as a surgeon of the front eyeball and 6 years experience as the surgeon of the back eyeball- that says everything.
We mainly specialize in:
- Cataract surgery,
- Glaucoma surgery,
- And small operations of eye protection apparatus (inturning of lid margin, outturning of lid margin, dropping eyelids, excess overhanging skin of the upper eyelids)
Cataract surgery
We specialize in the cataract surgery using the most common technique called phacoemulsification which requires making a small cornea incision and the monofocal lens implant is then inserted through the same tiny incision, thus avoiding the need for stitches. Moreover this method is one of the most up-to-date methods in the cataract procedure. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and the patient`s recovery after operation is fast.
In our practise we use monofocal lenses, refractive lenses and toric lenses.
All lenses are asferical which means its peripheral part reduces the light absorbtion entering the eyeball and it has yelow filter which blocks the blue light rays (this is the retina prophylexis expecially in AMD ilness (Age-related Macular Degeneration).
Monofocal lenses are used the most frequently. These lenses secure the good vision in one focal length, for instance for long distance and glasses must be worn for reading.
Refractive lenses make that about 70% patients do not have to wear glasses for near and distance what means the eye condition is similar to the young person’s eye.
Alongside the cataract removal the toric lenses reduce astigmatism (which patient had before operation) to even 2, 5 D.
At the moment the entire cost of the eye operation depends on the type of lenses the doctor would use.
In cataract surgery we use lenses from the companies: ALCON (United States) and ACRI-TECH (Germany).
In the most cases the procedure should look like written below:
The patient should make all necessary examination in the home country where the GP (General Practitioner) should issue the health condition certificate and certifies that the patient can be operated under the local anaesthetic.
And then in Poland the qualification of the patient would take place. In the most cases the operation can be performed the next day or 2 days later. If the specific or untypical sized lenses are needed then a longer waiting time would apply.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, usually requiring about 3 hours to complete.
The patient is able to come back home in 2-3 days after the operation. The procedure will be strightforward if the patient sends the cerificate of current optical examination. The cost of stay in Poland will be borne by the patient.
Glaucoma surgery
At the moment we can not offer the glaucoma surgery because the qualification of the patient before the procedure needs to be much longer.
